After the big printout it became obvious that there are some areas in the face that need more attention. So they are getting some.
After 85 hours, Aleyshas head has completed printing on my ender 3 at 1:1 scale! There is quite a bit of sanding still to do and surface finishing but the overall result is good. To be able to look at a model like this and to hold it in your hand... is really something else! It also helps a lot with understanding the form and finding those small flaws that may otherwise go unnoticed.
Decided to test print Aleyhsas head in small scale to see how the shape reads in real life on my creality ender 3 in draft mode before continuing on the sculpt. The internal support structures are showing through a little which doesn't help much with reading the surface so to be able to see what's really going on. Will have to sand down the surface and external support structure-leftovers and prime it. After that, on to some final fixes and then perhaps a life-size print?
It's always a little hard to pick work back up when it's been a while. So started with working out what to do next by rendering out Aleysha as she is now.
